Meanwhile, Bujar Osmani chose to extend greetings to Ukraine on the occasion of Independence Day.
Astrit Iljazi, a VLEN adviser in the City of Skopje, describes the situation as ironic, since Ukraine does not recognize Kosovo, while our politicians continue to express congratulations, embrace and diplomatic solidarity without seeking the same respect in return.
According to Iljazi, before repeating congratulations to Ukraine, its representatives should be made to understand that Kosovo is also a state and has the right to demand the same respect that we show Ukraine.
“Diplomacy is not about always being a good spectator. Sometimes, you also need to have a little dignity,” Iljazi said.
He also emphasizes that foreign policy cannot be limited solely to congratulations and solidarity, but must also include the protection of the interests and principles that our country considers important.
