Are you ready to die?”/ Man masked as “Chucky” stalks and threatens 6 people in Philadelphia as police seek his arrest

Philadelphia police are searching for a man wearing a mask depicting the horror character Chucky who is suspected of randomly stalking, threatening and terrorizing at least six people.

Authorities have released videos and photographs of the suspect, asking the public to share any information that could lead to his identification and arrest.

One of the documented incidents occurred near Philadelphia City Hall at around 5:30 a.m. last Wednesday. In the released footage, the masked person can be seen following a woman who was running in the street during the early morning hours.

Police said the victim, a 40-year-old woman, was followed by the suspect, who approached her while pointing his cellphone at her and asked, “Are you ready to die?” When she did not respond, he repeated the same question. Frightened, the woman began running away and suffered leg injuries while trying to escape.

Another security camera recorded the 40-year-old running along a five-lane road, with the suspect following behind her. When he failed to catch her, he changed direction.

Jameka, a witness to the incident, said she saw the man following the woman and tried to warn her of the danger.

“I started waving to her from the other side of the intersection and telling her, ‘Hey, there’s someone behind you—look behind you!’ She heard me and then started running,” Jameka told local media.

According to her account, after this moment the suspect tried to force his way into a café. When he was not allowed to enter, he turned his attention to the witness. She claims that the man tried to attack her before running away.

Police described the wanted suspect as a Black male, approximately 1.68 meters tall and between 16 and 20 years old.

In photographs released by investigators, he can be seen wearing a Chucky mask, as well as a blue-checkered backpack.

According to authorities, the suspect threatened and harassed several people while laughing at the victims and asking them whether they were “ready to die.”

He faces charges of terroristic threats, harassment, assault, reckless endangerment and intimidation. Police said additional charges may also be filed, including carrying a weapon without a permit.
