Suspicions of a Romantic Relationship: CNN Tells the Unusual Story of Natalie Harp, the Loyal Aide Who Hid in a Car Trunk to Follow Trump

An unusual incident in 2023 illustrates Natalie Harp’s level of devotion to Donald Trump. CNN reports that as Trump’s team was arranging to escort the president to a New York courthouse, there was no room left for her in the motorcade.

Harp insisted that Trump himself had asked for her to be there. To avoid being left behind, she climbed into the trunk of an SUV. The episode, now being made public for the first time, is just one example of the particularly close relationship between her and the US president.

The 35-year-old, who previously hosted a program on a conservative television network, has become a ubiquitous presence at Trump’s side. She relays messages, drafts Truth Social posts, prints articles that may interest him and coordinates communications with allies and politicians.

Harp joined Trump’s staff in 2022 after declaring that he was the man who had saved her life. During the 2024 presidential campaign, she accompanied him to rallies and events across the country, constantly handing him articles, materials and social media posts.

Because of this work, Trump’s allies nicknamed her the “Human Printer.”

“Trump likes the attention and the fact that she is 100 percent devoted and loyal. She does not doubt or question him,” a White House adviser told CNN.

A Republican lawmaker said that even when he manages to speak directly with Trump, he always makes sure Harp is kept informed.

However, according to several sources cited by CNN, her constant presence has not always been welcomed by other staff members.

Advisers who have requested meetings alone with Trump have sometimes found Harp in the room. Sources also claim that she has told some employees she reports only to Trump, creating friction with the White House’s formal chain of command.

An administration official played down those allegations, saying that Harp has good relationships with most of her colleagues and forwards information to the appropriate people.

White House spokesman Davis Ingle has publicly defended her, describing her as “one of Trump’s most loyal and hardworking aides.”

Attention surrounding Harp’s role increased after Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff mentioned her while criticizing Trump. The White House responded sharply, while Harp’s name spread widely on social media.

Several people close to the White House have compared the relationship between Trump and Harp to “that of a father and daughter,” dismissing any other insinuation.

But CNN writes that even among officials who have long been concerned about her unusual influence, there is little belief that the recent public attention will weaken Harp’s position with the president.

Another incident demonstrates her closeness to Trump. After the president posted and then deleted a controversial video on Truth Social, some of his allies privately suspected that Harp may have been behind the post, as she was one of the few people with access to Trump’s account.

According to CNN, they did not want to accuse her publicly because they feared that doing so would make Trump even more protective of her.
