Initially, the Tirana Court had sentenced him to 12 years in prison for the murder of Cani and an additional 10 years for the wounding of Meçe. Following the consolidation of these sentences, he was sentenced to a total of 16 years of imprisonment, a decision that has now been upheld by the second instance court.
The tragedy occurred on November 18, 2024, following a fight that had started among students at the “Fan Noli” nine-year school in the capital. The conflict escalated with the fatal consequence of the loss of Martin Cani’s life and the injury of Luis Meçe.
