The digital ID card and driver’s license in the “m.Uslugi” app cannot currently be used during police checks. Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski explained that government institutions’ systems have not yet been adapted to verify electronic documents.
According to him, the Ministry of Internal Affairs must adapt its systems so police officers can check these documents.

At yesterday’s launch of “m.Uslugi,” Andonovski said identification using the electronic ID card is not yet possible because the police have no way to verify the validity of the digital wallet.
The digital wallet is provided for under the Law on Electronic Documents and Electronic Identification, but amendments to the bylaws are also needed. Some regulations still require citizens to present physical documents.
“m.Uslugi” is available for Android and iOS devices. The app currently provides access to the electronic ID card, driver’s license, and M1, M2, and M4 forms.
Citizens should continue carrying their ID cards and driver’s licenses until the systems and regulations are adapted.
