Agim Aliçkaj has strongly reacted to a statement by LDK MP Hykmete Bajrami, who asked why Albin Kurti is repeatedly sending Kosovo to elections and whom a country without a functioning Assembly and legitimate institutions serves.

Aliçkaj dismissed her claims, declaring that Prime Minister Albin Kurti has no reason to call new elections because, according to him, he has won three sets of elections triggered by the opposition. He accused the opposition of obstructing the functioning of institutions and the implementation of the citizens’ will, “Bota sot” reports.
Addressing Bajrami, Aliçkaj said that she was trying to deceive only herself and that, together with the groups he described as anti-democratic, she was blocking the state and the will of the people. He added that this approach had pleased Srpska Lista, about which, according to him, Bajrami had declared that “there is no problem.”
Aliçkaj asked why the opposition does not accept Kurti’s offer to elect a consensual, non-partisan president. He also asked why such a candidate was not being proposed and why no commitment was being made that MPs would remain in the chamber to vote, as the people had mandated them to do.
According to him, the reason is that the political opponents hope to bring down Kurti by driving the state into chaos. In conclusion, he described them as miserable and failed, saying that citizens are not deceived by circus maneuvers, slander and empty words.
