Albin Kurti met with PDK leader Bedri Hamza

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza. The meeting was held one day after the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague announced the first-instance judgment against four former KLA leaders: Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi.

Kurti described the judgment as unjust, grave and far-reaching, stressing that the decision should be positively changed on appeal.

During the meeting, Kurti and Hamza exchanged their views and impressions, and discussed the paths and methods that should be pursued to correct the decision issued the previous day.

Prime Minister Kurti and PDK chairman Hamza committed to maintaining direct and continuous communication on issues of public, state and national interest.

The resistance of our people and the liberation war were not only just, but also necessary on the path toward freedom and independence.

The Kosovo Liberation Army represented the organized response of Albanians against an oppressive state regime, such as that of Milošević’s Yugoslavia of Serbia. The crimes of this regime are documented, ranging from systematic repression and apartheid to the denial of fundamental human and civil rights, and ultimately to ethnic cleansing and genocide.
