Kurti meets Hamza ahead of Assembly session

PDK Chairman Bedri Hamza was seen leaving the headquarters of the Kosovo government on Sunday after meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

Their conversation took place one day before the session of the Kosovo Assembly. So far, the parties have provided no official information about the issues discussed.

In addition to Hamza, Kurti also met with other political representatives that day as part of the latest political situation in the country.

The meetings with opposition leaders were held ahead of the parliamentary session, where the new MPs are expected to be sworn in and the deputy speaker of the Assembly from the ranks of the PDK is expected to be elected.

Meanwhile, the PDK has submitted a request to the Assembly to amend the Law on the Specialist Chambers of Kosovo. It remains unclear whether this item will be included on the agenda of tomorrow’s session.

The session was convened following a decision by the Constitutional Court, which determined that the Assembly had been constituted late, while finding that the Government of Kosovo had been formed in accordance with the Constitution.

In the same decision, the Constitutional Court set October 6 as the deadline for the election of the president of Kosovo.
