Albin Kurti held a farewell meeting with Dutch Ambassador Karin Boven

Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Albin Kurti held a farewell meeting with the Dutch ambassador to Kosovo, Karin Boven.

During the conversation, Kurti expressed his gratitude for the ambassador’s cooperation, contribution and service in Kosovo, highlighting her engagement in advancing gender equality and protecting human rights.

He underscored the importance of the Netherlands’ support for Kosovo’s status as a candidate country for membership in the European Union, as well as for the integration processes more broadly.

“The Republic of Kosovo considers the Netherlands’ support regarding the country’s status as a candidate for membership in the European Union and the integration processes in general to be essential. As we welcome the political consultations between the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Kosovo this month, we aim to expand strategic coordination through this forum,” the prime minister said.

The parties discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation in defense, justice, energy and agriculture, as well as in the cultural sector. In this context, the upcoming staging in Kosovo of the Van Gogh virtual exhibition was also mentioned.

Kurti wished Karin Boven success in her future duties and conveyed the message that she would always be welcome in Kosovo.
