According to the AKU’s clarification, Brazil no longer appears on the list of countries permitted to export certain categories of animals and animal products intended for human consumption to the European Union.
The European Commission has determined that the new rules do not affect exports made by third countries before September 3, 2026.
For this reason, shipments of beef and poultry from Brazil will also be accepted at Border Control Points, provided that the official veterinary health certificate was signed and/or issued before September 3, 2026, regardless of whether they may arrive on Albanian territory after that date.
The AKU declares that it will continue to monitor and enforce the requirements of the legislation in force, to guarantee food safety and protect public health.
