Airstrikes continue, Ukraine strikes Rostov and injures at least 3 people

At least three people were injured in Russia’s Rostov region following a series of Ukrainian airstrikes carried out overnight, Russian authorities and state media reported.

The incidents occurred during a particularly sensitive period, as U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are in Ukraine. They are engaged in diplomatic efforts to end the war.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had said that Kyiv would refrain from attacking Russian territory while the U.S. delegation was in the country. Despite this, as Russia carried out strikes on several parts of Ukraine overnight, Russian authorities also reported attacks by the Ukrainian side.

According to reports, the downing of drones in the Rostov region caused debris to fall, damaging facilities and injuring at least three people. As a result, major delays were also recorded in rail traffic.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said that air defenses had neutralized more than 250 Ukrainian drones overnight. The developments underscore that, despite U.S. efforts to secure a temporary halt to the attacks, fighting and airstrikes continue from both sides.
