Agricultural production in 2025 reaches 9.7 million tons, vegetables and medicinal plants increase, cereals, potatoes and olives decline

During 2025, Albanian farmers produced around 9.7 million tons of agricultural output. INSTAT data show that vegetables accounted for the largest share, reaching 1.4 million tons and recording an annual increase of 1.5%. Within this crop group, the counties of Fier, Tirana and Berat contributed approximately 62% of the total quantity.

Cereals also hold an important place in agricultural production, with a volume of around 624 thousand tons. The largest quantity was produced by Fier County with 144 thousand tons, followed by Elbasan and Korça.

However, compared with a year earlier, cereal production suffered a noticeable decline of nearly 25.9 thousand tons.

At the same time, medicinal plants recorded an annual increase of 10%, while potato production fell by 7%.

As for fruit trees, 253 thousand tons of fruit were produced during 2025. The highest production levels were recorded in Korça, Elbasan and Fier.

Meanwhile, olive production for 2025 reached 143.3 thousand tons, marking a decrease of 2.3% compared with 2024. The counties of Fier, Elbasan, Berat and Vlorë account for 83.2% of total olive production in Albania, remaining the main cultivation areas for this crop.

The country also produced 60 thousand tons of citrus fruit, 60% of which came from Vlorë County alone.
