Following Ergys Agasi’s arrest yesterday in Durrës, SPAK’s investigation appears to have expanded to include the assets of the businessman, who had been wanted since December 2025.

SPAK is also understood to have seized a luxury vehicle, a “Land Rover Defender”, which was parked in the garage of one of the villas at “Equos Resort”.
Agasi was arrested yesterday (August 26), after being declared wanted by SPAK in December 2025.
He was located while traveling in a vehicle together with former police officer Uljan Shpataraku, who was also arrested during the operation.
According to SPAK, he is suspected of a series of criminal offenses as part of the investigation into AKSHI procurement procedures, including illegal competition through violence, unlawful deprivation of liberty, violation of equality in tenders, and laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense.
Charges against Agasi
According to the Special Prosecution Office, Ergys Agasi faces seven charges: “Illegal competition through violence”, “Unlawful deprivation of liberty”, “Violation of the equality of participants in tenders or public auctions”, committed in the special form of cooperation involving a structured criminal group, and “Structured criminal group”, “Commission of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group”, as well as “Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity” and “Active corruption of persons exercising public functions”.
SPAK’s notice yesterday (August 26) on Agasi’s arrest
Following several weeks of work in close cooperation with the specialized operational structures of the State Police and the National Bureau of Investigation, today, August 26, 2026, the arrest of Ergys Agasi was carried out at the southern entrance to the city of Durrës, in the Plepa area, on the highway. At the time of his arrest, the citizen was accompanied by U. Sh., a former police officer, who was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of “Aiding the perpetrator”, provided for by Article 302/2 of the Criminal Code.
The Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime is continuing its investigations into criminal proceeding No. 20/1 of 2025, in which the name of Ergys Agasi was also registered on December 5, 2025. The citizen is being investigated for the commission of the following criminal offenses: “Illegal competition through violence”, “Unlawful deprivation of liberty”, “Violation of the equality of participants in tenders or public auctions”, committed in the special form of cooperation involving a structured criminal group, and “Structured criminal group”, “Commission of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group”, as well as “Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity”, provided for by Articles 110, 170/b and 28/4, 258, 287 and 333/a and 334 of the Criminal Code; and “Active corruption of persons exercising public functions”, committed in cooperation and more than once, provided for by the second paragraph of Article 244 of the Criminal Code.
With regard to the person under investigation, specifically Ergys Agasi, by Decision No. 125 dated December 15, 2025, of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, the security measure of “imprisonment” was imposed, as provided for by Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The court’s decision was immediately forwarded to the State Police structures for execution by official letter No. 43104, dated December 17, 2025.
