Erjon Vishkulli, 28, has traveled to Rome after suffering an eye injury during Saturday’s protest in Tirana and is expected to undergo surgery.
In an Instagram Story post, he said he was at San Carlo hospital in Rome and would undergo an operation he described as rare.

Vishkulli said he had just arrived at the hospital and was about to have surgery, expressing hope for a miracle. He accompanied his message with prayer symbols and the Albanian flag.
He suffered the eye injury during the October 24 protest in the capital. The incident has drawn public attention, and many protesters have expressed solidarity with him.
