The Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi, has announced that he has signed the decision to hold an early election for mayor of the Municipality of Brvenica. The election will take place on October 18, 2026.

Gashi called on the relevant institutions to organize the election in accordance with legal provisions. Meanwhile, he urged candidates and political parties to conduct their campaigns based on programs and ideas.
“I call on the citizens of Brvenica to participate in the election and exercise their democratic right responsibly, contributing to a peaceful, orderly and credible process that will determine the future of their municipality,” Gashi said.
He also emphasized that he expects this electoral process to demonstrate the level of democratic maturity of the institutions and citizens.
