Accused of at least 22 rapes against 14 women, suspected of 58 victims – The shocking case of the 68-year-old in Berlin!

The Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office has formalized a serious criminal file against a 68-year-old man, who faces evidence of at least 22 sexual assaults against 14 victims. His modus operandi involved secretly administering a combination of sleeping medications and alcoholic drinks to render the women unconscious.

In addition to the rapes, the defendant is also charged with grievous bodily harm and visual recording of the crimes he committed. According to the prosecution, he has been in jail since the first week of March.

The investigation revealed that the perpetrator approached his targets through online dating sites, where he built a rapport of trust before subduing them with sedatives and assaulting them. Most of these women were completely unaware of what had happened to them and only became aware of the incident after investigators contacted them directly.

The perpetrator’s discovery came after he had sent a video of the assaults to another person, who happened to be under police surveillance for similar criminal activities. This footage became crucial evidence linking the 68-year-old to the crimes.

Prosecutors strongly suspect that the list of victims may be much longer, reaching up to 58 women, but some of them remain anonymous and investigations are still underway to identify them.

Another macabre dimension of the case came to light with the case of a woman believed to have been sexually assaulted a total of 36 times by the same individual between 2010 and 2014. However, justice cannot prosecute this episode because the statute of limitations has expired.
