All five detainees have prior criminal records for drug-related offenses. Investigators suspect that their objective may have been to kill a person in the village of Gjashtë in Saranda.
After being taken into custody, the five young people were questioned but chose not to make any statements to investigators.
According to sources, the group was traveling in two vehicles. When the vehicles stopped, Sidorel Moriseni and Alfred Kaja were checking the weapons inside one of them, and police intervention led to their arrest.
The young people were apprehended in an alley near the home of Rexhep Ismaili, who was killed at his bar in Qafë Gjashtë in May of this year.
The investigative team is verifying whether they were in the area by chance or whether the stop was linked to a specific plan, although the detainees have refused to speak.
