Of these, the overwhelming majority—227 permits—were for high-rise buildings, while 39 were designated for low-rise structures. The reconstruction of another 101 buildings was planned. Based on these approvals, 1,248 homes are expected to be built across the country, with a total area exceeding 100,000 square meters.

In terms of geographical distribution, Skopje leads with 107 building permits and 752 planned homes. However, the value of investment suffered a sharp blow. The total value of the authorized buildings amounted to around 8 billion denars, representing a 74.8% decline compared with a year earlier.

The State Statistical Office explained that this sharp decline was caused by a large-scale permit issued in July last year for the construction of a wind farm in the areas of Shtip, Radovish and Karbinci.

As for the profile of investors, individuals make up the majority. Specifically, 209 buildings, or 56.9% of the total, are being financed by individuals, while 158 projects come from business entities.
