122nd protest against the government, citizens march in Tirana calling for Rama’s resignation

Protesters continued marching through the streets of Tirana as part of the 122nd protest against the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama. During the gathering, chants could be heard including “Resign,” “Down with the patronage networks,” “Arrest Rama, arrest Balluku,” and “Arrest Rama.”

Following speeches held in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, participants headed toward the capital’s streets, where they continued their protest with slogans against the government. Other chants included “Albania wants a revolution” and “Your end has come.”

Protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the government and the political class, calling for profound changes in the country’s governance and in the functioning of institutions. Another issue raised during the protest concerned allegations of corruption and the need for the justice system to investigate and prosecute officials against whom there are suspicions or ongoing proceedings.

During the march, citizens addressed SPAK, calling on it to act without delay against officials whom they accuse of corruption. According to the protesters’ message, justice institutions must act without political influence and without delay.

The protest has entered its 122nd day, and participants say they will not abandon their demands. They say they will continue until Prime Minister Edi Rama leaves office, describing the confrontation as opposition to the government and what they call the “old political class.”
