The 86th protest ends with a revolt against the entire political class: “Rama, resign!

The 86th protest against Prime Minister Edi Rama ended with chants of “More tomorrow” and “Join us,” as participants announced that they would continue their resistance.

For 86 days, citizens have taken to the streets in protests against the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama. They have expressed dissatisfaction with the country’s political situation and called for changes in the way the state is governed.

Following speeches held near the Prime Minister’s Office, the crowd continued marching through several of Tirana’s main streets. During the gathering, protesters reiterated their demands for the prime minister and government officials to step down.

Among the chants heard during the protest were “Rama, resign!”, “You’ve had it!”, “Arrest Rama!” and “Rama in prison, Berisha in prison!” They also called for the arrest of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.

Protesters have described their movement as a revolt against the government, but also against the political class as a whole. According to them, partial changes to the cabinet are no longer sufficient and the country needs a different political direction.

Among their demands, the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama is described as the main and non-negotiable condition. They have stated that replacing ministers or reorganizing the cabinet will not resolve the situation they oppose.

With the slogan “More tomorrow,” protesters made it clear that the demonstrations will continue in the coming days.
