The investigation into the murder of Lorena Isceri is bringing new details about the incident to light, with her former partner, Federico Vella, suspected of being responsible.

According to the authorities’ preliminary reconstruction, everything began in the garage of Lorena’s home in Rifredi and ended at a motorway overpass, from which Vella is suspected of throwing the woman.
The relationship between the two had ended after Lorena allegedly discovered that her partner was having another affair. After the breakup, Vella reportedly repeatedly sought to get her back and had even contacted Lorena’s mother, although she had asked him not to bother her anymore.
Relatives have recounted that Lorena was afraid of her former partner but had chosen not to report him, fearing that a complaint could further complicate her life.
Prosecutors suspect that the attack had been planned in advance. At the time of the incident, Vella allegedly took cable ties, scissors and a sheet with him—items investigators regard as indications that could strengthen the premeditation theory.
Lorena is suspected of having initially been attacked in the garage of her home. After tying her up, Vella placed her in the trunk of the car and set off toward the motorway overpass area.
During the journey, the woman managed to use her work phone, which she kept in her bag. She first sent a voice message to a friend asking for help and then called the police.
“He has kidnapped me; he’s going to kill me,” Lorena reportedly said during the call.
Her calls and messages are among the evidence being examined by investigators, who are trying to reconstruct, minute by minute, the movements of the victim and her former partner on the way to the overpass.
After arriving in the area, Vella allegedly attacked Lorena again. According to investigators’ hypothesis, she was unconscious but still alive when she was thrown from the overpass.
When police arrived at the scene, Vella was at the edge of the overpass. Video footage obtained by the authorities shows that he refused to approach the officers.
Negotiations to persuade him to give up proved unsuccessful. Before carrying out the fatal act, he allegedly sent a message to Lorena’s mother informing her that her daughter had died. He then called his own mother.
A short while later, the woman contacted the police and told officers about the conversation she had had with her son.
“My son called me and told me he had killed his former girlfriend,” she reportedly said during the call.
The authorities are continuing their investigation to clarify the full circumstances of the crime, while evidence, camera footage, calls and communications made before and during the incident are being analyzed.
