Kenscoff Mayor Jean Massillon confirmed the incident in a statement to Reuters.
Over the past two years, the area has been repeatedly targeted by criminal groups. Human rights organizations have previously documented cases of massacres, rapes and kidnappings in the region.
The escalation of violence has forced thousands of residents to abandon their homes, while Haiti’s security crisis remains critical.
