MDA medics Idan Elmaliah and Shoham Asraf, along with motorcycle unit medic Elchanan Kfir, said that upon arrival they found a man aged around 45 unconscious and without a pulse. They said they performed advanced resuscitation and initial treatment of his injuries before taking him to hospital in critical condition as he fought for his life.
Yushbaev, a resident of Or Akiva, was known to police and was considered one of the most significant and dangerous targets of the Hadera police intelligence division and the Coastal District central unit.
Over the past several years, he had been arrested several times on suspicion of involvement in a series of serious criminal incidents. These included throwing grenades at homes and businesses in Hadera and Or Akiva, shooting at private homes and setting fire to dozens of vehicles.
Police said officers from the Hadera station have launched an investigation, are collecting evidence and searching for the suspects. Israeli Police Commissioner Dani Levy also visited the scene. Authorities said the investigation is in its early stages and that further details are expected to emerge later.
