After two days of investigation, Durrës Police have arrested a 38-year-old man suspected of fatally hitting a cyclist and fleeing the scene.

The incident occurred on August 21, 2026, on the Rrashbull–Xhafzotaj road, where V. H., 41, a resident of Rrashbull, lost his life. During the investigation, police services were able to identify the vehicle and the suspected driver.
As a result, R. R., 38, a resident of Sukth, Durrës, was arrested. A “Benz A-Class” vehicle, suspected of having struck the person travelling by bicycle, was also found.
The procedural materials were sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action on the criminal offences of “Violation of Road Traffic Rules” and “Leaving the Scene of an Accident.”
