Among those detained is Moisid Matushaj, 24, a resident of Gjirokastër who serves as an Assistant Crime Investigation Specialist at the Gjirokastër Local Border Directorate. According to journalist Klodiana Lala, he is suspected of helping 29-year-old Sokrat Vata flee after the murder of the 20-year-old French national.
Police investigations have revealed that Matushaj worked as a bodyguard for the “Elite Security” company at the same establishment, “Principote,” where Sokrat Vata was also employed.
The main suspicion is that he enabled Vata to leave the scene of the crime.
Meanwhile, the authorities have declared Bekim Bulica, the owner of “Principotes,” wanted. He is considered the de facto owner of the well-known hotel in Ksamil, while official documents list his mother, 72-year-old Kade Bulica, as the owner.
According to preliminary investigation findings, the conflict is suspected to have begun over trivial motives. One of the leads being examined by the investigative team involves a woman.
Miguel Mendes had arrived in Ksamil with a group of tourists to spend his vacation in southern Albania.
After the incident, 29-year-old Sokrat Vata, a resident of Has who was employed as a beach attendant at the “Principotes” hotel, fled the crime scene. Police located him after conducting searches and arrested him in Fier.
