PDK lawmaker Besa Kabashi-Ramaj said that the failure to constitute the Assembly should serve as an alarm signal for everyone.
“Once again today, the session to constitute the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo has not been called. Kosovo continues to be without constituted institutions, and this should concern us all. We were elected to work, but instead of being in session and dealing with your problems, citizens, we are first asking for the state to function,” she said.
According to Kabashi-Ramaj, no leader can be placed above the state, Kosovo or the Constitution. She described the current situation as a state crisis.
“No election result gives anyone the right to place themselves above the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo. No leader is above the state, and no party is above Kosovo. What is happening is a state crisis caused by the party to which citizens entrusted responsibility for constituting the institutions, but which has in fact chosen to hold our state hostage,” Kabashi-Ramaj said.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo also stood outside the Government of Kosovo today, calling for the convening of the Assembly’s constitutive session.
