According to the party, area residents are again faced with a building that obstructs their view and blocks their windows and balconies. Meanwhile, the Municipality of Çairi has provided no clarification, published no inspection report, and disclosed no decision to halt the works.
The case was made public in May 2025, when the former Mayor of Skopje, Danella Arsovska, inspected the site and stated that the building was being constructed without a project or permit, just one meter from the existing structure and in front of residents’ windows and balconies.
After the denunciation, the Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation against the investor. Its announcement at the time said the project was a six-story residential and commercial building being built without a permit on state land, and that a halt to the works had been requested as part of the procedure.
BDI demands that the Municipality of Çairi immediately send inspectors to the site and clarify on what documentation basis the works have resumed, whether there is a valid building permit, what measures the municipal inspectorate has taken, and whether the work stoppage requested during the investigation remains in force.
The party also asks the Prosecutor’s Office to inform the public on the investigation’s progress and to explain how the resumption of works on a building that the institution itself treated as an unpermitted construction on state land was permitted.
