The filing of new charges against Artan Grubi, related to abuses at the State Lottery, appears to have created another front of conflict within DUI itself, according to several Macedonian-language media outlets.

The Bulevar.mk portal reports that while party leaders have been cautious in their statements, Grubi’s camp has been increasingly voicing claims that the former deputy prime minister has been abandoned and must face his battle alone.
According to the Lideri.mk portal, senior DUI activist Artin Spahiu has publicly stated that Grubi has been left without support in this confrontation and without “the voice and activity of our organization.”
Spahiu’s criticism is openly directed at the party’s current leadership, which he describes as a “politburo.” He also recalls that some of its members secured their positions with Grubi’s support, following the party congress held in December 2019 and the internal elections that followed.
In his reaction, Spahiu places particular emphasis on the change in officials’ behavior toward Grubi.
“Some called him ‘boss,’ some ‘brother,’ some ‘king,’ while most clung to him like snails on a tree,” Spahiu writes, adding that it was now becoming clear “who is who.” /Lideri
