The injured are Ndorina Rexhepi, 25; Arlinda Rexhepi, 27; Erza Grainca, 21; Aldo Kasimi, 30; Ana Dyrmishi, 25; and Luan Saliu, 21.

The flames broke out at around 04:05 inside the hotel, which is located in the “10 Korriku” neighborhood. The fire is believed to have started in the restaurant before spreading to other parts of the building, forcing guests to seek ways to escape.

In an attempt to escape the fire, several people inside the hotel jumped from the balconies. As a result, they suffered fractures and other bodily injuries.

Police said that five of the injured were taken to the Burns Hospital in Tirana for specialized treatment, while another person is being treated at Vlora Regional Hospital. Two of them suffered significant burns to their bodies.

Initial checks, including a review of footage recorded by security cameras, indicate that the incident was accidental. Preliminary suspicions are that the fire was caused by an electrical outlet connected to a refrigerator in the restaurant catching fire.

Under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, the investigative team is continuing its work to fully document the incident and clarify the circumstances in which it occurred.
