A fire reported at around 4:05 a.m. on the premises of the “Brooklyn” hotel in Vlora’s “10 Korriku” neighborhood injured six holidaymakers. Five of them are citizens of Kosovo, while the sixth is from Rrëshen.

According to preliminary police information, the incident was accidental. An examination of security camera footage and other investigative actions suggest that the fire started after an electrical outlet connected to a refrigerator in the hotel’s restaurant burned out. The restaurant is owned by citizen M. A.
Five of those injured were taken to the Burns Hospital in Tirana, where two of them suffered significant burns to their bodies. Another citizen is receiving treatment at the Vlora Regional Hospital.
The flames also caused material damage to the hotel.
The investigative team, under the direction of the Prosecution, is continuing procedural actions to fully document the circumstances of the incident.
