Increased movement of people and vehicles from Kosovo has been recorded at border crossings with Albania throughout almost the entire week, while weekends remain the busiest periods. Reported data show that an average of more than 35,000 people enter Albanian territory each day, while nearly the same number also leave the country.
According to RTSH, some of the travelers are Kosovo citizens returning to the countries where they live and work after completing their holidays in Albania. Others are traveling to Albanian coastal cities to enjoy the weekend or the final days of the summer season.
One vacationer said he had stayed with his family in Ksamil for six days and that the experience had been good. He said Albania, as always, remained the most suitable option for their holidays. Although they had also considered Greece this year, they ultimately chose Albania again.
Another traveler said he had spent the weekend in Durrës, which he described as a good place, adding that simply crossing the border fills their hearts with joy.
Another traveler said he had come from Mitrovica and was heading to Tirana, Saranda and Ksamil for a vacation.
Particularly during the tourist season, Morina continues to be one of the main crossing points between Kosovo and Albania. The authorities are using the resources at their disposal to manage the flow and enable travelers to cross as quickly as possible.
