A sudden storm hit the city of Pogradec on Friday afternoon, causing flooding on several main roads after weeks of high temperatures.

The heavy rainfall overwhelmed the drainage system, with the most visible impact reported on Dëshmorët e Pojskës Street and along the city’s promenade.
Water levels rose significantly and covered pedestrian areas, making it difficult for residents and pedestrians to get around.
Footage from the scene shows residents removing their shoes to wade through the water, while several people attempted to continue on bicycles despite the roads being blocked.
The abrupt change in weather conditions follows a prolonged period of drought and high temperatures, during which numerous wildfires also broke out across the country.
