Seven people were injured in a serious chain-reaction accident involving four vehicles near Kozjak HPP, the Ministry of Interior reported.

According to the report, on August 9, 2026, at 4 p.m., the Skopje Regional Center for Crisis Management was informed of a traffic accident on the regional road leading to Kozjak HPP, in the area of the village of Varvarë, near Skopje.
The collision involved a “Volkswagen Golf” passenger vehicle with Skopje license plates, driven by E.Xh. (19) from the village of Cërn Vërv, near Skopje; a “Seat” passenger vehicle with Skopje license plates, driven by D.A. (31) from the village of Batinc, near Skopje; a “Mercedes” transport vehicle with Skopje license plates, driven by Sh.S. (63) from the village of Malçishtë, near Skopje; and a “Ford” passenger vehicle with Skopje license plates, driven by N.L. (47) from Skopje.
B.R. (18), from the village of Batincë near Skopje, who was traveling as a passenger in the “Golf,” sustained serious bodily injuries. The four drivers also sustained bodily injuries, as did B.O. (30) from the village of Paligrad, near Skopje, and S.L. from Skopje, who were passengers in the “Golf” and “Ford,” respectively. The injuries were confirmed at the “Mother Teresa” Clinical Complex and the “St. Naum of Ohrid” Public Health Institution.
The Ministry of Interior said that an inspection of the scene was carried out by a team from the Skopje Regional Center for Crisis Management./Telegrafi/
