Afrim Gashi, Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, announced that he has signed the decision calling an early election for mayor of the Municipality of Brvenica. The election will be held on October 18, 2026.

Gashi urged the responsible institutions to organize the election in accordance with the law, while calling on candidates and political parties to campaign on their ideas and platforms.
“I call on the people of Brvenica to turn out and vote and to exercise their democratic right responsibly, helping to ensure an orderly, peaceful and credible process that will determine the future of their municipality,” Gashi said.
According to him, the electoral process is expected to serve as evidence of the democratic maturity of citizens and institutions.
