According to official reports, the area is now calm, while an isolated hotspot at the highest point of the mountain is being tackled from the air with the help of two Air Force helicopters.
Only one active hotspot currently remains and continues to be monitored from above.
More than 200 firefighters and over 200 Armed Forces personnel took part in the firefighting operation, working continuously throughout the night across the entire perimeter of the affected area.
Only one structure was completely destroyed by the flames, specifically a private warehouse belonging to a business. The good news is that no one was injured and no homes were affected by the fire.
According to the authorities’ statement, the fire in Krujë was fully contained as of 6:00 a.m., thanks to the coordinated efforts of all operational units.
While the upper part of the mountain continues to be managed from the air with the support of two helicopters, the situation is completely calm and a potential disaster was prevented thanks to the tireless efforts of more than 200 firefighters and over 200 Armed Forces personnel, who remained throughout the night across every part of the at-risk perimeter.
Most of these forces have now been redeployed. Only one building was destroyed by the flames—a business warehouse—and fortunately, no casualties or burned homes have been reported.
