A serious road accident was reported today (08.08.2026) at around 17:10 to the Gostivar Police Station. The collision occurred near a hotel on the Gostivar-Kičevo highway and involved two cars: a Peugeot with Gostivar license plates, driven by N.S. (34) from Gostivar, and an Opel Astra with Skopje license plates, driven by Gj.P. (63) from Skopje.

An emergency medical services doctor pronounced Gj.P. (63), the driver of the Opel Astra, dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Peugeot, N.S. (34), sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Emergency Center in Gostivar for medical treatment.
An investigation at the scene of the accident is being conducted by a public prosecutor from the Gostivar Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office, in cooperation with a team from the Gostivar Police Department.
