The very hot days appear to be coming to an end. According to meteorologist Tanja Porja, the extreme heat could last for another two to three days, with similar temperatures.

“Of course, we expect temperatures to fall, but this is the most intense heatwave, and we expect it to be the peak of this summer. After that, all trends point to falling temperatures, both in the morning and around midday, in the days that follow,” she told A2 CNN.
However, she stressed that the decline would be very slight and gradual. “Unfortunately, the drop will be very slight and very gradual, and we expect the fall in temperatures to become more noticeable after the middle of next week. After August 12–13, we expect to feel the decline in temperatures, with the thermometer dropping to 36 or 37 degrees, and then, in the second half of August, we normally expect another temperature pattern,” she added.
According to the meteorologist, due to the high temperatures, this summer could also be the hottest in the history of weather measurements.
“In the history of measurements, it was the summer of 2023 that broke records on every continent. Certainly, extremely high temperatures were recorded across Europe and in Albania. We cannot say that 2026 will be the hottest summer. We will wait for the summer to end—until August 31. But I can assure you of one thing: this year shows signs of becoming the hottest year in the history of measurements,” Porja said.
