The case was confirmed by the Kosovo Police, which said the individual is from Kosovo and was questioned. Police clarified that his questioning does not necessarily mean he will be placed in custody.
Meanwhile, a document from the Ministry of Internal Affairs obtained by the public broadcaster shows that a decision was issued on August 6, 2026, to revoke the citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo of Vido Gjuriqiq, who was born in Mitrovica on February 11, 1973.
The Interior Ministry’s decision states that Gjuriqiq simultaneously held citizenship of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia.

As justification for the measure, the document states that Gjuriqiq “is a member of the police forces of another country” without having obtained the consent of the competent institution.
The Interior Ministry considers such an action to be linked to activities that undermine the national security of the Republic of Kosovo.
