LVV leader Albin Kurti explained at a press conference held after the suspension of the resumed constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly why he did not put forward a name for the post of parliament speaker.

Kurti said that although they have the necessary votes, they did not nominate a candidate for speaker of the Assembly because, according to him, constituting the Assembly without a political agreement that would ensure attendance in the chamber and the election of the president of the Republic “would inevitably lead us to new, repeated, early, unreasonable, unnecessary and, in any case, harmful elections.”
The resumed constitutive session was suspended after Kurti requested more time to decide on a candidate for parliament speaker.
Alliance MP Time Kadrijaj then threw eggs at Albin Kurti and LVV’s parliamentary group. This prompted the chair of the session, Avni Dehari, to suspend it.
