He expressed hope that a solution regarding the Assembly and the president would be found during the day.
Haziri said that LDK representatives had come to take part in the constitutive session. According to him, despite yesterday’s developments, the approach should change and calls to respect the Constitution and constitute the Assembly should be taken into account. He said the leading party had neglected this process and adjourned the session for the day yesterday.
The LDK MP added that he expects today’s political developments to lead to the normalization of the Assembly of the Republic, creating opportunities to implement the election results in relation to the government and the president.
Commenting on Haxhiu’s statement that last night’s signatures had not been processed, Haziri stressed that the matter was related neither to him nor to the LDK.
He said he did not understand which signatures were being referred to and called for questions to be directed at those who had initiated such processes, reiterating that the matter had nothing to do with the LDK.
The Assembly of Kosovo has scheduled the continuation of the constitutive session for Saturday, today, starting at 11:00. The former opposition parties had requested that the meeting be held yesterday afternoon, arguing that the constitutional 30-day deadline for constituting the legislative institution expired at midnight.
In the June 7 elections, LVV secured 53 MPs, PDK 22, LDK 18, and the Alliance 7.
