In a written response to KosovaPress, Kadrijaj said that the MPs would remain in the Assembly chamber and confirmed that the necessary signatures had been collected.
The constitutional deadline for constituting the Assembly of Kosovo expires tonight, as stipulated by the Constitutional Court’s ruling. However, it is still unknown whether the constitutive session that was interrupted on Thursday will resume.
The session was interrupted following a request by Albin Kurti, leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, for more time to hold consultations with the political parties with the aim of reaching a political agreement. So far, the Assembly has not issued an official announcement on when the session will resume.
If the session is not held and the constitution of the Assembly is not completed within the deadline set by the Constitutional Court, new legal and political consequences may arise. An interpretation of these is expected from the competent institutions, specifically the Constitutional Court.
