The case is considered the first documented death among migrants who have used this method in an attempt to enter Ceuta.
Spanish authorities’ data show that approximately 80 migrants have died while attempting to cross the border into Ceuta.
In July, two other migrants from sub-Saharan Africa died while trying to enter Ceuta using the same method.
The first successful entry by parachute was documented in October 2025. Since then, two other cases have been recorded in which migrants managed to reach the Spanish enclave using this method.
