The Ministry of Health in North Macedonia has announced that, starting this month, citizens with health insurance will once again be able to obtain the “Foster” medication from pharmacies without having to pay any additional amount.

According to the official announcement, the ministry was informed by the company holding the marketing authorization for this medication, which is included on the Positive List of Medicines, that several changes have been introduced in favor of patients who use it.
From this month onward, insured patients will pay only the legally prescribed co-payment fee to obtain the medicine with a prescription, with no other costs. The same practice also applies to other medications containing the same active substances and used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
The Health Ministry’s statement emphasized that the ministry is continuously taking steps to improve patients’ access to and availability of medicines at more affordable prices.
