The Kosovo Assembly will convene in the plenary chamber today for the inaugural session of its 11th Legislature, which begins at 10:00.
Proceedings will begin with the establishment of a temporary committee tasked with verifying the quorum and the mandates of the MPs.
Once the mandates have been verified, the MPs will be sworn in, paving the way for the procedures to constitute the new legislature to continue.
The process of electing the speaker and deputy speakers of the Kosovo Assembly is then expected to take place.
This session officially marks the start of the work of the Kosovo Assembly’s 11th Legislature.

Albulena Haxhiu, speaker of the Assembly and simultaneously acting president, has arrived at the Kosovo Assembly building but has not disclosed whether she will run again for the institution’s top position.
Asked by reporters whether Vetëvendosje would nominate her again as speaker, she did not respond.
The inaugural session of the Kosovo Assembly’s 11th Legislature is expected to begin at 10:00.

Just shortly before the session begins, the official notice sets out four items on the agenda.
The first item is the establishment of a temporary committee to verify the quorum and the mandates of the MPs.
The second item provides for the swearing-in of the MPs, followed by the election of the speaker of the Assembly.
The agenda concludes with the election of the Assembly’s deputy speakers.
The meeting, which begins at 10:00 in the Kosovo Assembly’s plenary chamber, is expected to play a decisive role in constituting the 11th Legislature.

Ahead of the inaugural session, LDK MP Lutfi Haziri said the Assembly would be constituted today in accordance with the election result. He also confirmed that no agreement had yet been reached with the leading party.
According to Haziri, the LDK will continue its talks and cooperation with VV, with the aim of building a functional agreement that serves the state agenda.
He told the media that communication with the leading party was continuing and that discussions were still at the stage of defining the principles on which sustainable cooperation could be based.
Haziri stressed that the Assembly would be constituted in line with the election result, adding that there was no separate agreement for this process, nor had it been necessary to hold further discussions.

PDK leader Bedri Hamza said that, at this stage, his party had not been asked for support and that no talks had been held on the allocation of positions.
Ahead of the inaugural session, Hamza announced that the PDK would hold a meeting of its parliamentary group. He recalled that PDK candidates had not been supported in the past either, while regarding the deputy speakers, he clarified that the party has one deputy speaker and, as the party with the second-highest number of seats, supports the candidate that the PDK itself nominates for that position.
Hamza stressed that the PDK’s position had not changed, as its focus remains on its program and policies, not the distribution of posts.
He said the PDK had maintained a consistent position and had asked citizens for their votes in the election on the basis of a program for the economy, justice and energy. According to him, if no agreement is reached on these priorities, then discussing other issues is pointless.
Asked whether negotiations had taken place over institutional positions, Hamza replied that they had not been discussed at all.
