Today, Kosovo’s former Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, was questioned by the Kosovo Special Prosecution Office.

Aliu, who currently serves as Director of the Port of Durrës, appeared with his lawyer.
According to media reports in Kosovo, Liburn Aliu is being questioned in connection with a suspected case of abuse of official duty during his time as a minister in the Kurti government, a position he held until August 2025, when he resigned.
He is being questioned over the case involving water bottling companies, in which he is suspected of causing millions of euros in losses to the state of Kosovo.
Liburn Aliu served as minister until August 27, 2025, when he resigned following Dimal Basha’s election as speaker of the Kosovo Assembly.
In October of the same year, Aliu was appointed the new Director of the Port of Durrës.
