On Monday afternoon, flames engulfed a two-story home in the Fier-Shegan area, where an elderly couple lived.

The fire broke out on the ground floor of the house. As soon as they noticed the flames, family members alerted the fire service, while relatives and local residents quickly intervened to evacuate the couple from the building. Neither was injured.
Two fire engines from Lushnja arrived at the scene. Their intervention contained the flames and prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring homes.
Firefighters brought the situation under control. An ambulance also arrived at the scene to assess the elderly couple’s health.
According to preliminary information from the Lushnja fire service, the blaze is suspected to have been caused by an electrical spark. Investigations are continuing to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
