Police across the country detained 34 people over the past weekend, specifically during the period 31.07–02/03.08.2026. They are suspected of committing the criminal offense of “reckless driving of a motor vehicle,” as stipulated in Article 297-a of the Criminal Code.

According to the data, 23 of those detained were driving without a driver’s license, while nine others were under the influence of alcohol. One case involved driving an unregistered vehicle without a driver’s license, while another person was driving without a license and under the influence of alcohol.
Once the documentation procedures have been completed, the relevant criminal charges will be filed against those detained.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is urging citizens to comply with traffic regulations and not to drive without a driver’s license, while banned from driving, or under the influence of alcohol. According to the ministry, the responsibility of every driver on the road is an important factor in ensuring the safety of all road users.
