Traffic on the Durrës-Tirana highway was severely disrupted around midday on Monday after two accidents occurred on opposite sides of the road. A total of eight vehicles were involved in the collisions, creating long queues and obstructing traffic.

The more serious accident occurred near Sukth, in the direction of Tirana, where seven vehicles collided. According to preliminary information from drivers at the scene, two cars were initially involved in a crash, while several meters farther on, five other vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction collision.
Meanwhile, at almost the same time, another accident was reported on the Tirana-Durrës side, near Maminas. The two incidents caused an almost complete blockage of the highway, while the line of vehicles stuck in traffic stretched to the entrance of Tirana.
The Durrës Police said that no one was injured in either accident and that only material damage was caused. Traffic police services remain at the scene, taking measures to restore normal traffic flow and investigating to fully determine the causes and circumstances of the collisions.
