Lumir Abdixhiku, newly confirmed at the head of the Democratic League of Kosovo, stated that after the General Assembly, the party will again engage in dialogue for the establishment of institutions. According to him, talks will begin with the Vetëvendosje Movement to harmonize fundamental principles, while the issue of distributing responsibilities will be postponed to a later stage.

For lawyer Gazmend Halilaj, Abdixhiku’s reconfirmation gives him a strong mandate and more authority in leading the party, but this does not automatically open the door to an alliance with Vetëvendosje.
In his statement to “Bota sot”, Halilaj underlined that any possible agreement between the two parties must be based on political will, intertwined governing platforms and the supreme interest of the state. He insists that the negotiating process must be transparent and guided by strong principles.
He further stressed that the re-election constitutes an important political moment, because it gives the LDK leader full legitimacy to make strategic decisions. However, this increased authority on the political stage does not automatically translate into a coalition. According to Halilaj, any negotiation must go beyond simply dividing up positions and be built on transparency and mutual respect.
Speaking of the scenario of cooperation between the LDK and LVV, he sees it as a reasonable path only if it serves to overcome the institutional blockade, based on concrete reforms, the fight against corruption, economic development and strengthening the state.
Halilaj warned that the absolute priority should not be securing a simple parliamentary majority, but the interest of citizens and making institutions functional.
At the end of his analysis, he reiterated that the main responsibility of the political spectrum remains overcoming the crisis, improving well-being, and the rule of law. According to him, the success of any coalition should not be measured simply by the arithmetic of mandates, but by the ability to fulfill these vital goals for the country.
