Meanwhile, the governing majority is using various methods to downplay the protest, but it does not always manage to avoid mistakes.
One such case involves the head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla. In an attempt to show fewer protesters than those who fill “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard every day, he published an AI-altered photograph, while nevertheless leaving traces of the manipulation.
The image shows that, in addition to reducing the number of citizens present, the inscriptions on the banners held by the protesters were not corrected.
The texts displayed on them do not form meaningful words in the Albanian language. The mistake was also pointed out by commenters on Balla’s social media accounts.
The latest national protest is taking place today, with Albanians from the diaspora also set to participate.
